They spent their elopement day how all couples should spend their wedding- fully embraced in each other’s love. From their first look with postcard views at the Dillon Reservoir to their intimate ceremony at Sapphire Point. Natalie & Jack’s day was filled with the most special kind of love.
Their Love Story
Natalie & Jack first met when Natalie moved to Clevand and they both happened to join the Coed soccer league. For the first year of knowing each other, they didn’t communicate much more than a hello and casual goodbye at their games.
Later that year on the fourth of July, Jack was hanging out with a friend on a boat. His friend asks him to invite some chicks over so they don’t have to watch the fireworks show alone. So, he invites Natalie and her roommate to join them. They eneded up jumping in Lake Erie in the dark dark that night. Watching the fireworks show and playing cards.
After a few weeks, Jack and Natalie’s seemingly innocent friendship started to develop into something more. He would ask her certain things to get to know her better and she had the sneaky suspicion he was interested.
Her suspicions were later confirmed when he surprised her with her favorite snack – a bag of pretzel rods. A treat she mentioned in passing during one of their game and movie nights. Jack says he will never forget the look she gave him when he pulled out the bag and knew “he was in trouble”.
A week later, after leaving the gym Natalie text Jack to see if she could stop by his house. They ended up watching The Game of Thrones, and having their first of many kisses. The night didn’t end their though. They stayed up chatting until around 3 in the morning. A trend that gladly participated in for the next 14 days straight. It must’ve been a great kiss, because they’ve spent almost every day together since
The Proposal – “Are you sure you want to do this forever?”
One night on their way to dinner, Jack decided to stop to take a walk near Lake Erie. A spot that they had frequented in years prior when he asked Natalei to be his girlfriend.
Natalie was suspicious, and grew even more so when Jack pulled a drawstring bag out of his trunk.
They walked out on the rocks by the cold windy lake, and started to awkwardly fumble over their words. They both knew what was about to happen.
A few moments later Jack did something goofy and asked Natalie “are you sure you want to do this forever”. This question had become an inside joke between the two of them whenever one of them did something rediculous or embarrassing.
Natalie laughed and responded “yes, of course – remember the first time you asked me that?!”
Jack quickly responded “yes, and this is going to be the last time I ask you that.”
The memory of what was said after those words is a little hazy, but Natalie does remember hugging Jack and feeling how fast his heart was racing.
They celebrated over dinner at their favorite bbq joint and called their parents to share the news when we they arrived back home. It was perfect.

Natalie & Jack’s Sapphire Point Elopement Ceremony
After exchanging their vows privately, Natalie and Jack met their families at Sapphire Point for their ceremony. Natalie’s father walked her down the aisle. Her sweet little nephews were their ring bearers. It was peaceful, intimate, completely them experience.
Natalie wore a beautiful shawl made out of an afghan that was made by her Noni’s. She also wore the pearl earrings her mom wore at her wedding. We love when couples incorporate unique details like this into their day!
